Our Story
In 2008, Heath Furr started 1st Choice Plumbing to pursue a simple goal: give people honest work at a fair price. While other plumbing companies were overcharging customers and giving the whole trade a bad name, Heath knew he wanted to run his business differently.
He named the business 1st Choice Plumbing after his aspiration: “we want to be everybody's first choice of plumbing, so it just kind of fit,” he said.
Over time, their steady, honest work kept customers calling back and the business steadily growing. Today, the business consistently receives 5-star reviews and has a loyal base of customers who rely on them.
First Choice Plumbing has always been a family-run business, especially between father and son. Heath's son, Cameron Furr, started coming to job sites with his father at eight years old, the same year the company was founded. What began as a way to spend time together turned into a career: he earned his journeyman license at 18, during his senior year of high school, and became a licensed master plumber at 20, during his sophomore year of college.
Both are now Class II unrestricted master plumbers, and the company is in the middle of its next transition. Cameron rarely needs to call his father for help anymore, and when he does, it's a problem neither of them has run into before. Heath has stepped back from day-to-day fieldwork, confident in the plumber Cameron has become.
