Gas Line Services
1st Choice Plumbing handles a variety of gas line services including repairs and installations.
Repair & Installation
We run new gas lines and repair existing ones, sizing the pipe to match your appliance's BTU demand. We pressure-test every line to confirm it's fully sealed before the gas goes back on, and handle permits and inspections where your local code requires them.
Gas Appliance Connections
We connect and size gas lines for water heaters, ranges, ovens, dryers, fireplaces, pool heaters, generators and outdoor kitchens, checking that your system has enough capacity for the new appliance before we install anything.
Leak Detection & Repair
We track down leaks with an electronic gas detector, then repair or replace the fitting, joint or section of pipe causing it. If a line has widespread corrosion or keeps leaking in different spots, we'll tell you when replacement makes more sense than another repair.
Do You Have a Gas Leak?
Natural gas and propane are essential for heating your home, water heater, stove and fireplace, but they can be dangerous if a line is damaged or improperly installed. There’s three main warning signs to look out for.
Since natural gas is odorless on its own, utility companies add a chemical that makes it smell like rotten eggs or sulfur. When gas is escaping from a gas line, you may hear a hissing or whistling sound near your gas meter or appliance. Gas leaks below the surface can also lead to plants or grass that die off for no clear reason.
